A supposed to be fun and relaxing weekend, turned into a tragic memory. It was in year 2011 when Hazel Woodhams and Roland Wessling took a trip to the Norkfolk Broads. What they are supposed to do are canoeing, camping and enjoying the outdoors.
However, in the morning, when Roland woke up, he found his partner Hazel dead. What is more terrifying is that the killer is inside their tent. Invincible, silent, and fatal. Roland’s life is also in danger.
Hazel died because of carbon monoxide poisoning. The couple used carbon-based fuel for their barbecue, a night before the incident.
They thought the barbecue was already inactive as it was cold to the touch, there were no more smoking coming from it and there were no glowing. The two then placed the grill inside their tent after several hours.
After sometime, they decided to sleep. Little did they know that the barbecue was still active. Carbon monoxide from the fuel rose to a toxic level because they were in an airtight, small tent. The fumes poisoned the two while they were sleeping, causing Hazel’s death and Roland’s sickness.
Roland remembered, he was screaming for help but the campsite were secluded and nobody can hear him. After some time, he was able to seek for help and was immediately brought to a hospital.
Doctors found out that there was an extremely high level of carbon monoxide in his blood.
Hazel should have been able to identify the perpetrator because she is a scenes-of-crime officer. They have carbon monoxide detector at home. They were not able to identify the perpetrator since they thought the fire was already extinguished.
