Suffering From High Blood Pressure? Here's a List of Foods You Should Avoid!

People suffering from high blood pressure are recommended to have a diet low in fat and sodium. The foods enumerated below are the top food one should limit or avoid the intake. 

Alcohol
Drinking alcohol excessively may cause your blood pressure to rise. People with high blood pressure are recommended to drink alcohol moderately which means: one drink per day for males 65 years old and above or two drinks for males under 65 and one drink per day for women of any age.


Pickles
Pickles are loaded with sodium, as said earlier, thought it is rich in vitamin K, it shall be taken with limitations or totally avoided.

Red Meat
An 18 oz steak without any sauce has 79 g of fat, 1 140 calories and 1 500 g of sodium. Fatty foods are not good for the blood vessels and the heart, which means on a small amount or saturated or trans-fats are the only advisable serving.

Salt
Sodium consumption raises blood pressure.

Sauerkraut
It contains Vitamins K and C, fiber and iron, it has low calories but has a high 460mg of sodium.

Sugar
Obesity is one of the determinants for high blood pressure. Foods, which have extra calories, are full of sugar causing weight gain. Also, the blood flow may be slowed down by the extra weight as it strains the heart.

Whole Milk
It is a great source of calcium. However it also provides more fat than needed.

A drink means 5oz of wine or 1.5 oz of 80-proof distilled spirits or 12 oz of beer.
