Mechanical Failure? Engineers Blamed for Wife, Son Slingshot Mishap!

Mechanical failures are the least things engineers would want to encounter. But, what happens when the this engineering fail happens? Of course, there may be lives spared. Injuries can bring people seeking for entertainment straight to the hospitals, with the attendance of healthcare professionals, nurses and medical experts. Best thrills from different rides that guarantee mixed emotions and euphoria from kids to adults thrill-seekers can be found in the amusement parks.

The ‘Slingshot’ is available today as a famous extreme ride. The ride is supposed to be fun until an incident happened.

Trevor Larson, 13-year-old and his family friend Carrie Seuker are being strapped into place on the Catapult at Mt. Olympus Theme Park & Water Park in Wisconsin Dells when the Slingshot cable unexpectedly broke and was whipped towards the ground. Fortunately, the incident happened before they were thrown into the air.

Few moments before the breaking of the Slingshot happened, a man can be heard saying ‘I’ll pray for you. The ropes are looking a little frayed.’

Who would have thought that the random man was right. The rope broke just seconds before the operator was about to hot the button to send Larson and Seuker in the air. Luckily, no one was hurt.

The incident caused the theme park to close the ride for investigation.

Owner of Mt. Olympus Theme Park & Water Park, Nick Laskaris told WISN that it was their first encounter of such incident.

He said the incident was unfortunate and that mechanical failures for some unfortunate reasons really do happen.

It would be expected that as paying customers, we are supposed to get our money’s worth in expecting a hundred percent safety in riding such rides. However, mistakes occur and accidents happen and no one wants to be part of it.
