In the modern world, mobile phones are one of the most useful devices that we use in our everyday lives. It seems like we couldn't take a long time without our phones as we use it not just for communication by calling and texting, but also for surfing the internet, paying bills, banking, and a lot more!

Another reason is it may also cause sudden accidents. Just like what happened to this girl from Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, Southwest China who learned her lesson the hard way.
She sheepishly admitted that she was texting a friend while walking when she suddenly fell in the storm drain and became stuck in broad day light! She didn't notice the storm drain because she wasn't paying much attention in the street, because of her phone!
A lot of people came to help her while others only took pictures. Unfortunately, the bars are sturdy, so no one could get her leg free from the drain bars.
Later on, the bystanders called the fire station. The fire brigade came and set her leg free after being stuck for 45 minutes. According to the bystanders, if she was a bit bigger, maybe her leg wouldn’t fall deep.
Ming Lai, fire brigade spokesman said, "We managed to remove the bars and quickly freed her once we arrived at the scene. Her leg was a bit scratched and bruised and numb from being squeezed through the bars, but she quickly recovered and not need hospital treatment.”
Luckily, the girl wasn't hospitalized as she did not fracture her bones but she did have a lot of bruises (including a bruised ego) after the ordeal.
So, let this be a warning to all phone addicts to always pay attention to your surroundings and not to your phone, especially if you’re out in the streets. It could save your life!
